Raif and Sadie Faircloth have a musical history that has taken them all over the country.
Raiford Faircloth was born into the musical fold of Charlie “Peanut” Faircloth, Decca recording artist, bandleader, DJ and songwriter. Raif’s early years and music experiences were peppered with associations like Earnest Tubbs, Porter and Dolly, Jim Ed Brown, Archie Campbell, Roy Acuff, the Willis Bros., Brenda Lee, Hank Snow, among others. He hung out with some, got to play with others. Raif joined forces with Burnard Tate in the early 70’s, playing or jamming with bands such as Dr. John, Hall and Oats, Allman Bros. Lynard Skynyrd and ZZ Top.
In the late 70’s, Raif and Sadie became “Bluebird Special”, playing gigs with The Carter Family Fols and and the McClain Family Bluegrass Festival, jamming with Ricky Scaggs, Jerry Douglas, Buck White, many others around the campfires at night.
Raif and Sadie became long time members of the Cincinnati based band “The Modulators”, performing shows with national artists like The Doobie Brothers, Delbert McClinton, Eddie Money and Ray Charles. Most recently they became part of the musical and acting troup Mad River Theater”.
