The release of his new CD project has even given birth to a NEW MUSIC FESTIVAL in the Cincinnati scene!
On October 23, 2010, David Rhodes Brown released his latest CD, “Browngrass and Wildflowers”, at the Southgate House in Newport, KY. The event featured live performances by 500 Miles to Memphis, Magnolia Mountain, The Tillers, Kelly Thomas, Mack West, Shiny and the Spoon, Ricky Nye and many more! In fact, these performers were among the 39 featured artists on David's CD that have become The Troupe, a mega-show of western swing, country, folk, bluegrass, blues, hillbilly jazz and honky-tonk music.
S
ince Brown wanted to do something different for the CD release, he decided to make it a benefit concert for WNKU 89.7 f.m. (WNKU is a long-time supporter of local music.) It was such a huge success that the “Browngrass Festival” is now a yearly benefit supported by local musicianswho want to give back to the beloved radio station.
